China and Pakistan cooperating to economically improve and secure Gwadar
The future of Pakistan’s economy now depends on its most prized city known as Gwadar. Ever since the government of Pakistan decided to construct a third deep sea port at Gwadar, the strategic and economic value of the city increased a lot. And then on top of that the CPEC project initiated by China and Pakistan, which is going to cost around $47 billion, will further develop the city of Gwadar and its port.
There are many projects planned for the advancement of Gwadar and some of them have already started and are nearing completion. It’s due to these developments in the city, which has earned it the title of future business hub of Pakistan. The massive development in the city has also raised the overall value of Gwadar property. The CPEC venture and Gwadar will no doubt, present Pakistan with many opportunities. This also initiated a real estate boom in the region, compelling people to go for land for sale in Gwadar.
New streets and highways under CPEC will help open up courses for trading goods from China's barely developed and landlocked Xinjiang territory, through Pakistan, into the Arabian Sea and afterward onto the Gulf countries and European regions.
The multi-billion dollar project is about more than just bilateral trading between China and Pakistan. Investors of the project are hopeful that, the project will improve and reinforce the country’s crippling economy and will give China’s naval forces an area to operate in the previously inaccessible Indian Ocean.
Establishing Pakistan and China Naval bases near Gwadar and in the Indian Ocean will further increase the defense of Pakistan against India or even the USA.
Various businessmen from all over Pakistan’s developed cities such as Karachi and Lahore are investing in Gwadar, with most of them being housing scheme developers and real estate companies. They feel that incentives given by the country such has tax amnesty and subsidized rates will encourage more people to invest in the region.
The venture will surely help Pakistan's economy. Pakistan's Planning Ministry does not yet have specific statistics on exactly how many job and employment opportunities will be created, but the number is well over 200,000.
According to many experts and analysts if all the projects of Gwadar have been completed, the whole region could generate billions of rupees for Pakistan annually.
